Timothy Straub

Timothy has wide ranging experience representing individuals and businesses, as both plaintiffs and defendants, in all manner of commercial disputes and civil litigation, including breach of contract, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, insurance, intellectual property and securities claims. He has practiced extensively in both state and federal courts and before ADR forums. He has participated in and overseen all aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings, motion practice, discovery, and trial preparation and argued before numerous judges in New York’s federal courts and the Second Circuit.

Prior to joining Schulman Law, Timothy served as in-house counsel to a prestige publishing and entertainment startup and has been a senior litigation associate at a major international law firm and counsel for a prominent litigation boutique. Timothy holds an M.A. in Philosophy from Georgetown University, and a J.D., cum laude, from Fordham University School of Law.

In addition to his skills as a litigator, Timothy has experience negotiating and drafting a wide variety of contracts and agreements, and has counseled senior executives, business owners, artists and other high performing individuals on range of legal issues and strategies, including employment matters, regulatory issues, and risks and potential liabilities associated emerging technologies. He has participated in highly confidential internal investigations of major insurance carriers.
